1st Day of School

Raise your hand if you remember when I was pregnant with Landon. Now raise your other hand if you remember the day he was born. (Or morning, for all you crazy grandparents that waited at the hospital!) Now, nod your head up and down if you find it hard to believe that was FOUR years ago. Next, look around the room and see how many strange looks you are getting from other people. LOL.

Well, pre-school started today. I think he was a little nervous. He almost cried because he thought he wasn't going to get to play on the playground. I told him, I knew he would get to play outside and everything was better.

So we took the 1st day of school pictures.

And one with little sis. She really missed him this morning.

When I picked him up, he was pretty excited. He told me they sang songs, cut with sissors and learned about colors. Sounds like a pretty good day. Then he asked when he got to go back. I think that means he liked it.

Countdown to Pre-School

Talk about depressing. Landon is going to pre-school this year. I am thrilled for him. He's going to have a great time. But the closer it gets, the more I realize that he's growing up. It will be so strange to not have him at home with me. We've been together everyday since he was born until 6 months and then after he turned one until right now. I said I wouldn't cry but I don't know if I'll be able to keep that promise.

Happy 4th Birthday!

Here's Landon trying to blow out his birthday candles. What he doesn't know is that Grandma Barb talked me into getting trick candles.

And opening birthday presents. I guess we should have made him do this one last.

Birthday Party...

I'm planning Landon's family party for August 9th. We are going to have supper and swim, like last year. I might have dinner at the house incase it's really hot outside.

Landon's Birthday Wishlist

I'm posting this because everyone keeps asking what to get Landon for his birthday. I'll try to add to it as he mentions things. Here are a few things I know so far:

  1. Anything to do with the movie WALL-E. (Mike and I are buying the PS2 game for him)
  2. Movies - Bob the Builder, Tom and Jerry... mostly cartoons.
  3. Anything to do with Cars. He's been talking about some crash toy with Lightning.

I'm not listing the things that I have told people verbally.

I'll add more later. Keep checking for updates.

Farmer Landon

Mike spent about 12 days harvesting with a friend of ours. He invited me and the kids out to ride the tractor with him last Friday. Landon thought it was the coolest thing ever. Reese and I went home after about an hour, but he wanted to stay. I picked him up about 7 pm that night, against his will. Mike promised he could go out again the next night.
So I took him back out the next day around 6, so that he could see the combines in the dark. He called them Frank because of the Cars movie. In the movie Frank has his lights on because it's night so he really wanted to see Frank in the dark.
He couldn't get enough. Mike is planning on taking him to Venango so he can ride with Grandpa Dude.
I guess he also had a great time with the radio. He'd call the combine and say, "Hi Jennifer. I'm in the tractor." She'd respond back, "Hi Landon. I'm in the combine." This went on and on according to Jennifer. LOL. What a crazy kid.

Tagged!

The rules of the game get posted at the beginning. Each player answers the questions about themselves. At the end of the post, the player then tags 5 people (or whatever) and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know they’ve been tagged and asking them to read your blog. Let the person who tagged you know when you’ve posted your answer.

Whatever you say, Landon!

The night before last, I put Landon to bed. We read a story, The Boy With The Little Toy Drum. Then I said a prayer with him, Angel of God. After the prayer, I asked him if there was anyone that he wanted God to take care of. He named Jennifer, Deon, Jenny and Jeff. I said, what about the grandparents, daddy and Reese. He agreed that God needed to take care of them too. I kissed him and hugged him and told him good night.
As I walked down the stairs I heard him say, Mommy! I walked back to his room and asked what he wanted. He said, I'll take care of you Mommy! Ahhh... thanks Landon!

After that sweet ending to bedtime, I should have known it wouldn't last. Landon woke up at 5 am the next morning. I put him back to bed. As I walked out of the room, Landon told me, I'll send the cops after you!
I said, please do. Jail would be a vacation.

Roughing It!

My two Tines men decided to camp out Saturday night. It was pretty rough... the backyard, marshmallows, Candy Land... I think they had a good time.

Mike said Landon got cold so he crawled in the sleeping bag with Mike. Then woke up mad because he wasn't in his own sleeping bag. Then got cold again and crawled back in with Mike.

I'm not sure they got a whole lot of sleep, but Landon seemed pretty excited about it. Maybe next time they can try it at the lake.

I got the kids pictures taken (thank you Alissa) and they look great! Here are a couple shots of Landon.
